I have never hunted a day in my life but I have decided to give it a try. This page is for all of you hunters out there to teach me how to hunt. I want to know tricks, trades, ideas, and especially recipes. This is however, not just for me. All can read and learn. I hope this will be fun and interesting for all that participate.

Now you're getting personal. As a hunter when you find a big deer, turkey, or just a great spot you sometimes don't want to tell others fearing they might tell someone else or simply slip in on your spot (especially if it's public land). This is not true for leased land so much as it is public lands.
I would have to say my favorite place to hunt would be “my backyard”. It’s really not my backyard but that’s what I like to call it. It is actually a little creek bottom in Carroll County behind our cabin. It’s not much different than any other creek bottom other that it is the first place I really got lost, the first place I killed a turkey, the first place my wife ever shot at (and missed) a deer , and the first place my son ever shot at (and missed) a squirrel . My Grandfather, Father and I have hunted there for many years and have many great memories of the place.
I know guys like to go on the big week long hunts to Canada, Iowa, Kansas and the like but this time of year, with the leaves turning and the white oak acorns are falling, I can’t think of any better place to be.
